Broughton Astley Wins Prestigious Award for sixth time

Broughton Astley has been awarded 1st place in the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners’ annual Harold Todd Memorial Award for the best local authority allotments for the sixth time.

The Harold Todd Memorial Trophy which is awarded to local authorities which have a population of under 30,000 people, was presented at a special ceremony in Coventry on 7th June 2008.

The award is based on a number of criteria including the number of plots occupied, the facilities provided and the management of the site and the Western Willows site was the clear winner!

No Joint Tenancies

The Parish Council has decided that, as a matter of policy, no joint tenancies will be permitted in respect of allotment plot holdings. The Western Willows Allotments Rules will be amended to reflect this decision.
